The presentation and discussion will focus on key learning for establishing and running a business resource group (BRG).  The business resource group of interest will be The Coca-Cola Company’s Military Veterans BRG.  Topics will include; learnings, structure, business planning, engagement, member development and outreach. This programming is facilitated as part of the Veterans Transition Support Task Force that is sponsored by APICS Atlanta and the Georgia Manufacturing Alliance.

Facilitator Info

Joe is native to Atlanta, Georgia, proudly born in Atlanta’s very own Grady Memorial Hospital.  Joes earned a Chemistry degree from North Georgia College (NCG) in Dahlonega, one of six senior military schools in the country.  While at NGC, he was enlisted in the Georgia National Guard as an armor crewman in the 48th brigade.  Following his graduation in 1995, Joe commissioned to active duty army as a chemical officer, branch detailed to military intelligence.  He served 4 years of active duty with most of that time being in Aschaffenburg, Germany with the 1/27th Field Artillery Battalion.  Joe began his career at The Coca-Cola Company in 1999 as a team manager in the call center.  After 5 years of management, he spent 8 years in Coca-Cola’s foodservice field operations team, working with service providers that install and repair Coca-Cola dispensing equipment in foodservice outlets across the southeast.  For the past 5 years, Joe has been a quality manager at Coca-Cola, ensuring dispensed beverages are served as intended and acts as the subject expert in water for CCNA as a Water Quality Association Certified Water Specialist.  Joe is active in supporting veteran initiatives and serves as president of Coca-Cola’s Military Veterans Business Resource Group.  He is also a mentor in American Corporate Partners and on the Board of Directors for the University of North Georgia’s Corp of Cadets Alumni Association.  Joe enjoys staying active through cycling and spending time with his wife and daughter.
